Monday brought a blanket of fog covering the bay, something I have been waiting a very long time for. I decided to pack up the camera and hit up the birthday boy japes (@japes510) to hit the coast in search of foggy photos. We started at the end of ocean beach where we pulled off to get some fresh air.
If you've never been to this end of the beach, its a huge example of coastal erosion where part of the road has broken off. Its a great place to find post-apocalyptic shots. Its also covered with great pieces of different kinds of art.
Next We headed down the coast a few miles to Pacifica, CA where we stopped off to grab a bite at Gorilla BBQ. The BBQ Brisket sandwich is to die for if your rolling through, make sure you pull to the side and visit.
Next we pulled off and kept heading south until we hit Half Moon Bay, CA to stop off for a brew. We pulled off and hit Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. There beers veer towards IPA's but there Kolsch is great as well.
We hit the road and continued south until we both saw a huge wave brake off in the distance. We pulled off to the side and headed down to find one of the greatest spots on the 1, Hint its right next to a state beach.
We then headed south on the way to Davenport, CA however on our way we saw the Pigeon Point Lighthouse standing out in the fog and decided to pull off. Its an unbelievably beautiful place with a great small beach on the north end, perfect for lunches. On the north side you'll find a walk out to the cliffs of the west coast all while under the cast of the gigantic lighthouse.
